Fairway Membership Terms and Conditions

A flexible membership for the lifestyle of today

Application for Membership

Application for membership will mirror full membership applications. All Fairway Members will be asked to fill out an application form to ensure the Club has received the correct data. Please note that proposers and seconders are not essential but preferred.


Entrance Fee

The Entrance Fee for new Fairway Members will be £200.00. Although this is Currently discounted to £100.00 for a limited time only. The Entrance Fee can be split over two years or paid over 10 months using Direct Debit scheme.

Those members who are transferring from one type of playing membership to Fairway Membership will not have to pay an Entrance Fee.

Previous members who wish to re-join as Fairway Members and are within 5 years of leaving Churston Golf Club, will pay £50.00 Entrance Fee, those who have been left longer will pay the full £200.00 Entrance Fee. Again, currently discounted to £100.00.

Those Fairway Members who wish to transfer to Full Membership will have any entrance fee paid deducted from the price of a full Entrance Fee at that time.



The subscription for 2020/21 is set at £311.00. This can be paid upfront or spread over 10 months using a Direct Debit scheme.

On receipt of all dues the new Fairway Members will receive a diary, coloured bag tag (not white) and that year’s membership sticker. The new Fairway Member will also receive a copy of the Terms and Conditions that apply to Fairway Membership and the Club’s Rule Book. Fairway Members will also be entitled to a swipe card, which will be ordered at this time. Fairway members will be entitled to the very same discount structure on bar and restaurant purchases as Full Members.


Online Booking & Intelligent Golf.

When you join the Club you will be given a membership number and details of how to log onto IntelligentGolf. IntelligentGolf forms our membership and booking portal. It includes a helpful free members App. The App supplies information regarding with your Handicap Record, Competitions, Matches, Tee Times, The balance on your members account, Latest Golfing News and course information.


Payment for Golf

Fairway Members will be asked to pay for their golf before they play. In British Summer Time the fees will be £21.00 before 13:30 and £16.00 after 13:31. Those Fairway Members wishing to play some holes in the evening must pre-pay before they play, there will be no exceptions to this rule. The minimum payment for golf after 6.00pm is £9.00.

Once payment has been received by the Pro Shop Staff, Fairway Members will be given a ticket to display clearly on their golf bag to identify that they have paid the appropriate fee on that day. Fairway Members are asked to remove all tickets which are out of date.

A Course Marshal will be patrolling the course to ensure that all Fairway Members have pre-paid for their golf. The Club will take a stance of zero tolerance. If any Fairway Member is caught on the course without first paying a green fee they will be asked in the first place to leave the course and secondly invited to join as a Full Member, as they would have forfeited their Fairway Membership.


Competition Play

Fairway Members are entitled to play in all competitions and win all trophies. Fairway Members playing in competitions, including match play events, singles doubles and mixed will come under the same rules and regulations as Full Members. In match play events Fairway Members must be flexible with the times they are available, even if this means paying a higher green fee.


Playing Privileges

On paying the correct fees, Fairway Members have the same playing privileges as Full Members. Fairway Members are able to represent the Club in competitive and friendly competition play, however when playing at home the normal fee will apply.


Voting Rights

Fairway Members will not be entitled to vote at Company Meetings; however, they will be entitled to attend all meetings.

Churston Golf Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) as such offers “affordable membership” as laid down by the HRMC most recent criteria and guidelines.
